"Not really worth the monthly fee"
I signed up thinking it would help me save money , but it just didn’t feel worth it . The monthly charge starts to add up , and I still felt like I was doing most of the work myself . It might be fine for really basic questions , but for what it costs , I expected a lot more help . I ended up cancelling because the value just wasn’t there for me .

At first I thought it was a affordable option, and to be fair, they do a good job making it sound like a smart deal. But once the monthly charges started adding up, it felt like I was paying way more than it was worth for how little I actually used it. Nice enough service, I guess, if you enjoy forgetting you’re being charged every month.

I was just happy to find out it was available in my area. Coverage can be a little hit or miss depending on where you are, but in my case it worked out fine

"App and website are rough to deal with"
Trying to use the app was just frustrating. I logged in hoping to quickly check my plan info, but it kept freezing, loading weirdly, and sending me back to the same places over and over.
The website wasn’t much better. Some pages took forever to open, and a few buttons didn’t seem to do anything at all. I even tried reaching out about it, but it kind of felt like nobody actually read what I sent.
The service itself might be fine, but the app and site made the whole experience feel way harder than it needed to be. It just feels outdated and not very user-friendly.

"Canceling Turned Into a Whole Mini Saga"
I used LegalShield for a while it was fine. Nothing too dramatic on that front. But when I tried to cancel my membership, that’s where the plot thickened a little. I expected it to be quick and simple, but instead I had to contact support, wait around, and follow up before it finally got taken care of. To be fair, they did cancel it in the end, so it wasn’t a disaster. It just felt like more of an ordeal than it needed to be.

"Not as easy to reach a lawyer as I expected"
I signed up thinking I’d be able to get in touch with an attorney quickly, but it wasn’t quite that simple. There were a few steps to go through first, and I ended up waiting longer than I figured I would.
Once someone finally got back to me, it was fine, I guess, and the help wasn’t bad. I’m not sure I’d call it smooth, though. It got the job done eventually, but the whole thing felt slower and more frustrating than I expected.

"Pretty helpful with identity theft alerts"
I mean, overall, it’s been helpful for dealing with identity theft stuff. It helped me sort through the alerts and figure out what actually needed attention, which was a relief. The app can be a little slow sometimes, like waiting for things to load and all that, but it still gets the job done.

LegalShield seems fine overall, but I definitely had to poke around more than I expected to figure out what the plan actually covered. Some parts were straightforward, but other details felt a little vague. Overall, the service was alright. The attorney did get around to answering my questions, but a couple of the replies was slower than I expected. It wasn’t a bad experience or anything, I just wish the responses came quicker and were a bit clearer.

"The customer service was okay overall..."
The customer service was okay overall. The person who replied was polite and they did end up helping me, so I appreciate that. It just took longer than I expected, and I had to explain my issue twice, which was a little frustrating. Not sure how to explain it, but the support felt like it could’ve been a bit quicker and clearer. Not a bad experience, just not the smoothest either.

"Expected more than I got"
I thought once they took my information, someone would actually stay on top of my case and keep me updated. Instead, after that first call, it was mostly silence. I had to keep calling back, and every time it felt like I was starting over and explaining the whole situation again. Maybe I expected too much, but I just assumed my claim would feel like it was being handled. It really didn’t, and the whole thing ended up being frustrating and not worth it for me

"Didn’t feel like professional help"
I expected more from Legal Shield. The attorney I spoke with seemed rushed and almost irritated when I asked basic questions. They did answer a few things, but the whole time it felt like I was an inconvenience instead of a paying customer. It wasn’t the worst experience ever, but it definitely didn’t feel like the professional support I thought I was signing up for. After this, I’m not exactly confident that customer service would have my back either if I needed help sorting something out.

"Pretty trustworthy so far"
I’ve used legalshield a few times now, it’s been solid so far. Signing up was easy, and when I actually needed help, I was able to get connected with a lawyer, which gave me some peace of mind.

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about trying it: don’t expect every response to be instant. One reply took a little longer than I hoped, but when they did get back to me, they answered my questions clearly and didn’t make everything sound overly complicated.

For the price, I think it’s fair and worth considering if you want some legal help available without paying a huge hourly fee. I’d say 4 stars from me — good service overall, just not totally perfect

"Billing felt unclear"
I signed up thinking it was one price, then random charges kept showing up. Canceling wasn’t simple either, I had to ask more than once. Might work for others, but the pricing needs to be much clearer upfront

“It was extremely challenging. They would contact me outside of regular working hours, making it impossible for me to reach them until the next morning. However, when I did call in the morning, they were always occupied. Each time I called, I was placed on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes, if not longer. Eventually, when the lawyer did get back to me, she was fantastic, but unfortunately, it caused me to be tardy for an appointment. Additionally, I found the receptionist to be rather peculiar.”

“It is extremely difficult. They have a line of representatives who will initially confuse you about who you are actually speaking with. I believe they have a filtering system in place to prevent legitimate complaints from reaching the actual help level. If I were the owner of this company, I would be interested in understanding how customers are targeted and treated, unless the person in question is involved in the scam. This is especially true if your complaint is valid and has legal implications; they will go to great lengths to avoid addressing it. I have yet to come across a corporate employee at LegalShield who genuinely cares about upholding the company's name and advertised purposes. In Durham, NC, they use the Merrit Web Law Firm, which is ridiculous. These people exploit the grey area to leave customers empty-handed.”
